DeKalb to Host South River Cleanup
DECATUR, Ga. – Various organizations and volunteers will come together Saturday, July 8, from 8 to 11 a.m., to clean up the South River. The event will be held at Constitution Lakes Park, 1305 South River Industrial Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30315.
The cleanup is sponsored by Keep DeKalb Beautiful community volunteers, South River Watershed Alliance, The Nature Conservancy, DeKalb County Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and Water Matters.


Volunteers will clean the South River.
Constitution Lakes is a 125-acre nature preserve managed by the DeKalb County Parks and Greenspace. The preserve features a boardwalk overseeing wildlife-filled wetlands, the unique Doll’s Head Park trail, attractive vistas and some of the best bird watching in the state.
Participants in the cleanup must be at least 18 years old and should wear closed-toe shoes, long pants, long-sleeved shirts and insect repellent. This event is free and open to the public.
