In the race for the 6th Congressional District, former State Senator for the 32nd, Honorable Senator Judson Hill, resigned to seek election to congress.
This election is for the State Senate (32nd) and not the sixth congressional district.
Among the four candidates seeking the office, two headed to a run-off election. The election day is today. Republican Dr. Kay Kirkpatrick and Democrat Christine Triebsch will face off in the final election today.
Neither candidate reached close to the 50% threshold in the special election and the top two candidates were placed in the run-off
The Republican is a retired orthopedic surgeon and the democrat is an attorney. Allegations have been made that the democrat has purposely withheld campaign finance information on her last filing made public.
The 32nd District covers parts of North Cobb and North Fulton counties.
All voters are encouraged to exercise his or her sacred right to cast a vote for one of the two candidates. Some democrats would even encourage you to vote more than once.
