The Taliban held a ceremony in Kabul to mark the signing of a two-year peace agreement with the United States, dubbed the “Doha Agreement”, as “a day of pride in the history of the country.” Taliban leaders called the agreement “the end of the occupation and the political and military victory.” Maulvi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Chief Minister (Acting Minister) Acting Taliban spokesman said in a statement that the Taliban were committed to agreeing not to use Afghan soil again. He added: “But at the same time, we want to implement the Doha agreement with others.” The Taliban, in a statement issued on the occasion, called on the nation to “bring good and good medicine to the Afghan people so that all possible challenges may be averted.” In this statement, some of the countries that are called “occupiers” are requested to start their interactions with each other based on mutual respect.
